Bridgewood House

Bridgewood House provides personal care to 18 people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities, with varying levels of independence. The service includes four separate bungalows on the site where some residents live more independently. Located in a rural area, the home has been designed to blend into the residential community, with no identifying signs, cameras, or industrial features. Staff are discouraged from wearing anything that indicates they work in care, supporting the home's approach to helping residents live as ordinarily as possible.

The service prioritises meaningful lives for residents, emphasising control, choice, and independence. Individual risk assessments have been improved, and staff demonstrate confidence in raising safeguarding concerns. The building's design and separate bungalow provision help mitigate potential challenges of the service's size, allowing residents to develop independence while maintaining the personal care support they need.
