About Hoylands House

Hoylands House is a residential care home in Barnsley providing accommodation and personal care for people with a learning disability and autistic people. Further details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Hoylands House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 8 people with a learning disability and autistic people. At the time of the CQC's assessment, 7 people were living there. The home is now rated Good overall, an improvement from its previous requires improvement rating, with earlier breaches around governance and staffing resolved, although some recruitment and retention issues remained.

Inspectors found people were treated as individuals, offered choice, and supported to maintain independence and relationships. Safeguarding and medicines management were generally sound, though some cream and liquid administration and record reviews needed tightening. Relatives described staff as caring and reliable, with one saying they could "not speak highly enough" of the team.
