Hoylands House

This residential care home provides personal care for up to 8 people with learning disabilities and autism, currently supporting 6 residents. Staff support people to have choice and control in their daily lives using the least restrictive approach possible, with policies and systems in place to enable this practice. However, staffing shortages have impacted the service's ability to deliver, meaning people are not always able to attend planned events and sometimes must share support. The registered manager has faced difficulties recruiting staff.

The home implements effective infection prevention and control measures to protect residents from infection risks, with safe use of PPE throughout the service. Staff safely manage residents' medicines and collaborate with health professionals to support good health outcomes. However, the service does not always have sufficient trained staff on duty to properly support all residents.
