Broom Cottage

Broom Cottage is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 5 people with learning disabilities. At the time of inspection, 4 people were using the service, accommodated in one adapted building. The home has the external appearance of a large family home with spaces for people to relax, eat and socialise. People have unrestricted access to communal areas and personalised bedrooms where they can spend private time as they choose.

Staff understand how people communicate their preferences and enable them to make choices in their daily lives. The registered manager had identified areas for improvement to help people have more fulfilling and meaningful everyday lives, with plans focused on ensuring people's wishes, needs and rights remain central to the service.
