Brook Lane Rest Home accommodates up to 28 people and specialises in care for adults over 65 living with dementia. During inspection, inspectors found several examples of good practice in infection control and support. The home had invested in disposable and fluid repellent visitor coats to provide additional protection when residents were unable to follow social distancing guidance or maintain physical distance from staff and visitors. Staff wore disposable tabards when administering medicines and used sanitary wipes to support residents in maintaining hand hygiene, an approach that proved particularly effective for people living with dementia. The registered manager integrated COVID-19 testing schedules into staff rotas to ensure adequate cover and support across the service.
