About Brantwood Hall Care Home

Brantwood Hall Care Home is a residential care home in Wakefield, providing personal care for older people, including some living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Brantwood Hall Care Home, in Wakefield, provides personal care for up to 29 people, including some living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Inadequate overall and has placed it in special measures following breaches relating to staffing and governance. Inspectors found weak leadership and ineffective oversight, with concerns about fire safety, medicines management, falls monitoring, record keeping and staffing levels that left people at risk of harm.

Staff were found to be kind and respectful, the home was clean, and people spoke positively about the food. However, group activities did not always meet the needs of less independent residents, and pre-admission assessments and record keeping fell short of expected standards.
