Bramhall Manor Care Home

Bramhall Manor Care Centre is a purpose-built care home providing nursing and personal care for up to 71 people across three floors. It offers 35 short-term intermediate care placements for people discharged from hospital, with the remaining places for those requiring longer-term nursing or residential care. At inspection, 68 people were using the service.

Inspectors found significant concerns with medicines management systems, which were not always effective or safe and placed people at risk. Risk assessments were not consistently robust, and it was unclear whether lessons learnt were embedded in staff practice. However, most residents felt safe and spoke positively about staff. The home was clean and tidy with good visiting arrangements for friends and family. Staff recruitment was safe and staffing appeared sufficient during inspection, though feedback about responsiveness to call bells and help requests varied among residents.

Systems for service oversight existed but were not robust enough to ensure identified shortfalls were addressed. The provider and registered manager responded immediately to concerns raised during inspection and took action to improve systems and reduce future risk.
