Blackrod House is a residential care home in Blackrod, Bolton, supporting up to 30 people. At the time of inspection, 27 people were living at the home, with one currently in hospital.

People felt safe and spoke positively about the care and support they received. Staff received training in safeguarding and knew how to identify and report concerns appropriately. Accidents, incidents and falls were documented and reviewed to identify patterns and lessons learned.

Medicines were managed safely by trained staff whose competency was regularly assessed, with people receiving their medicines on time and as prescribed. The home was maintained to a clean standard.
