Bishops Way

Bishops Way provides accommodation and personal care for up to 15 people with learning disabilities or mental health needs. At inspection, the home was at full capacity with all 15 places occupied. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, including comprehensive policies for managing COVID-19 risks, particularly for residents who tested positive or regularly declined testing. The environment had been adapted to ensure people and relatives could interact safely while following guidance.

Staff consistently used personal protective equipment correctly, with inspectors observing proper donning and doffing procedures. Hand hygiene stations throughout the home were clean, accessible and fully stocked with supplies. All staff had completed infection prevention control training and demonstrated understanding of their roles and responsibilities during the pandemic. The home followed admissions guidance and maintained a regular testing programme for both people and staff.
