Rowan Court

Rowan Court is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 15 people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and younger adults. The home is housed in one adapted building with bedrooms across three floors. At inspection, all 15 places were occupied.

Staff numbers were sufficient to meet people's daily needs, and most had completed required training, though evidence of training in some areas was lacking. Medicines were managed safely and people received prescribed medication with regular reviews. However, inspectors found that not all people were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives. Some residents lacked capacity to make decisions, and the home had not completed all necessary capacity assessments or best interest decisions to ensure people were supported in the least restrictive way possible.
