Birchwood House

This residential care home supports up to eight people with mental health needs in one adapted building. At the time of inspection, five people were using the service. The home had recently experienced management changes and an unsettled period, prompting the provider to identify areas needing improvement. While progress was evident on their improvement plan, further work was required to fully embed changes and address certain risks to people's safety. Staff demonstrated understanding of their safeguarding responsibilities, though the home had experienced several staff changes in recent months. Efforts were underway to establish a more stable staffing team, with some progress already evident in these recruitment and retention efforts.
