Arden Lodge Residential Care Home for Elder Adults

Arden Lodge provides residential care for up to 47 older people and younger adults without nursing support. At inspection, 31 people were living at the home. Staff followed Department of Health guidelines to promote safe visits from professionals and supported people to maintain contact with relatives and friends through window visits, technology, and increased one-to-one time with staff, helping reduce social isolation. The home built a visitor pod in the garden to further reduce infection risks.

Staff received additional training and Covid-19 specific guidance to care for people safely, with senior staff checking completion and undertaking spot checks to ensure appropriate PPE use. The management team recruited additional domestic staff to increase cleaning throughout the home. Staff supported people to understand the pandemic and explained why they wore PPE, which helped reassure residents.
