Beechwood

Beechwood provides nursing and personal care for up to 27 people, including some living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disability, autism or a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, 21 people lived there. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, identifying breaches relating to safe care and treatment and good governance: medicines were not managed safely, care records lacked accuracy, and risks were not consistently mitigated.

Inspectors found staff were kind, attentive and worked well as a team, with enough of them on duty and rooms personalised to reflect residents' individuality. However, involvement in care planning was inconsistent, and some people reported boredom and limited independence. The provider has been asked for an action plan to address these concerns.
