About Beaconville Nursing Home

Beaconville Nursing Home is a nursing care home in Devon, supporting older adults, including people living with dementia and mental health conditions. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent assessment of the service.

Beaconville Nursing Home provides nursing care for up to 36 older adults, including people living with dementia and mental health conditions. At the time of the CQC assessment, 26 people lived at the home. The service is rated Good overall, having made significant progress since previous breaches around safe care, consent, staffing, recruitment and governance were resolved.

Inspectors found a caring, respectful atmosphere, with detailed person-centred care plans and staff who were kind and approachable. However, some shortfalls remained: an overdue Legionella risk assessment, inconsistent medicines cupboard security, gaps in mental capacity assessments for certain decisions, and inconsistent recording of repositioning and wound care.
