About Barnes Court Care Home

Barnes Court Care Home is a nursing home in Sunderland, providing care for people with complex physical and neurological needs, nursing needs, and dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Barnes Court Care Home, in Reading, provides nursing and personal care for up to 89 people with complex physical and neurological needs, nursing needs, and those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 57 people were living there under a new manager who had recently joined and begun addressing concerns about culture and staffing.

The CQC found the home overall Good. People felt safe, were treated with dignity, and staff sought consent before helping them. Inspectors noted gaps in record keeping around care plans, medication and health checks, though these had already been identified by the provider and action plans put in place.

Feedback on staffing levels was mixed, but relatives reported recent improvements.
