About Ashlea Lodge

Ashlea Lodge is a nursing home in Sunderland, providing care for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Ashlea Lodge provides nursing and personal care to up to 37 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 35 people were using the service. Residents and relatives were very positive about the care, with people feeling safe and confident in staff skills.

Relatives shared examples of how staff had meaningfully improved people's lives since they moved to the home.

Staff were safely recruited and received induction and ongoing training, with regular supervisions and team meetings to support their development. There were enough competent staff to meet residents' needs. People and relatives were involved in every stage of care planning, and systems were in place to ensure person-centred, safe care.

The registered manager had implemented an effective quality assurance system with regular audits and checks.
