Avon Lodge Care Home

Avon Lodge Care Home accommodates up to 62 people requiring personal and nursing care across three floors, with 52 residents at the time of inspection. People reported feeling safe, supported by safeguarding procedures that staff and managers understood clearly. Risk assessments were in place and staff knew how to minimise identified risks. Recruitment checks were conducted appropriately before staff employment, and staffing levels met residents' care and support needs. Medicine management was safe, and infection control procedures, including COVID-19 measures, were established.

The home had effective systems to monitor care quality. Staff felt valued and engaged, while residents and relatives confirmed they were involved in the service and their feedback was regularly sought. The operations manager and staff worked collaboratively with health and social care providers to drive improvement and deliver an effective service.
