Avalon

Avalon provides personal care and accommodation for up to four young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. At the time of inspection, all four places were occupied. The service operates in a homely environment with a positive culture that promotes choice, independence, rights and empowerment. The registered manager has clear aims to deliver personalised care, and systems are in place to monitor quality and safety. However, whilst the provider visits regularly, formal recorded quality and safety monitoring visits were not being conducted in line with the provider's own policy. Inspectors recommended that the provider ensure these monitoring visits are formally documented. People receive support that enables them to live as independently as possible within their chosen environment.
