Avalon Care Home

Avalon Care Home provides residential care for up to 26 people with dementia, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and younger adults. The two-floor home had 20 residents at inspection. Staff administer medication safely, with some people supported to manage their own medication where able. People reported feeling safe, with risk assessments clearly written and regularly reviewed. Accident and incident logs have improved, helping staff identify opportunities to reduce risks. Infection control has improved and the home is cleaner. While staffing levels are adequate, some residents said they cannot always go out as much as they would like due to limited staff availability for activities and outings.
