People and relatives spoke highly of staff and the management team, describing them as helpful, alert and attentive. Residents felt safe and well supported, and families said they were kept informed and involved in care decisions. Inspectors found the home had a warm, friendly atmosphere throughout.

Athorpe Lodge is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 94 people. The service also supports some people discharged from hospital for rehabilitation purposes. At the time of our inspection there were 84 people using the service. We carried out our on-site assessment on 18 September 2024. We asked the registered manager to forward some documents to us for review off site. The inspection ended on 2 October 2024. We looked at the quality statements in Safe and Well-Led. Since our last inspection the service has continued to provide a good quality of care and support for people.
