Aston House

Aston House, in Herefordshire, provides accommodation and personal care for up to 19 people with mental health support needs. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall and placed it in special measures, finding breaches of five legal regulations covering safe care, staffing, consent, person-centred care and governance.

Inspectors found risks around fire safety, arson and suicide were not properly managed, medicines guidance was inaccurate, and staffing and training were insufficient. Governance was ineffective and failed to pick up serious concerns, though people and relatives described staff as kind, and some positive interactions were observed.
