Aspire in the Community - 13 Station Road

Aspire in the Community provides care for up to seven younger adults with learning disabilities across a five-bedroomed house and two-bedroom bungalow on the same site. At inspection, six people were using the service. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, particularly in managing an outbreak. Staff accessed government testing schemes to identify cases quickly and worked closely with the local authority infection prevention and control team and other health professionals. A visiting community matron noted that "Aspire had coped marvellously" with outbreak management and acted on all feedback received. The service promoted social distancing through various measures, including encouraging self-isolation in bedrooms when appropriate and implementing additional controls such as furniture rearrangement and improved ventilation for those who preferred not to isolate. Cleaning schedules were expanded to cover high-risk areas throughout the day, including frequent cleaning of door handles and light switches.
