Ashwood Nursing Home - Spalding

Ashwood Nursing Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 47 older people, with 32 residents living there at the time of inspection. The home maintained sufficient stocks of Personal Protective Equipment including masks, gloves, aprons, hand sanitiser and visors, with staff wearing these appropriately. Infection control policies reflected current national guidance, and people and staff were tested regularly to identify and manage COVID-19 cases promptly.

The service had clear procedures in place for safe admissions and visitor screening prior to entry. Staff received training in infection prevention and control, including practical modules on safely putting on and removing PPE. A dedicated visiting room was established to facilitate safe visits between residents and relatives, and the home used technology alongside window and outdoor visits to enable people to maintain contact with their families.
