Ashmead Care Centre

Ashmead Care Centre provides nursing and personal care for 108 older people, including those living with dementia, across six units. Staff knew people well and provided person-centred care, encouraging residents to maintain their routines, interests and contact with family and friends. The home was updating its activity provision and had employed an activities coordinator, though current activities were not fully meeting people's needs. The registered manager and staff regularly assessed and reviewed care plans, including communication needs, and gave people choices about their care.

People and their relatives described the home as a safe place to live, and staff reported it was a safe place to work. Complaints were appropriately recorded, investigated and responded to. Residents and families were provided with clear information about the service to help them decide whether to move in.
