Ashlee Residential Care Home

This care home provides personal care for up to 21 older people, including those with complex health conditions and dementia. At the time of inspection, 19 people were living at the home across two floors. Medicines are managed safely using an electronic system that prompts staff when medication should be administered. The home has adequate staffing levels and follows safe recruitment practices.

However, risks associated with people's care and the environment were not always effectively monitored and managed. The home lacked a registered manager, with a deputy acting in this role during the inspection. Staff had not always received up to date training in current practices. People were not always consulted on decisions affecting them or supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives. The physical environment required attention, with carpets needing cleaning throughout the home and some requiring replacement due to wear. Despite these concerns, people were supported with their health needs and had access to healthcare services.
