Ashdowne Care Centre

Ashdowne Care Centre provides nursing and personal care for up to 60 people, including older people and those living with dementia. The CQC found the service had improved to Good overall, from Requires Improvement previously. Inspectors found staff kind, attentive and knowledgeable about people's individual needs, with good communication with relatives and effective care planning.

Some shortfalls remained: staffing at times felt task focused with less time for meaningful contact, DoLS applications weren't always timely, and the complaints system needed strengthening. There was no permanent registered manager in place, though leadership was seen as committed to further improvement. Activities and outdoor access weren't always consistently available.
