Ashdown Nursing Home

Ashdown Nursing Home in Worthing provides nursing care and support for up to 40 people, including those with frailty and dementia. At the time of inspection, 31 people lived at the home. During a COVID-19 outbreak closure, the home had comprehensive infection control measures in place, including policies for visitor testing with Lateral Flow Devices and PPE provision. Visits would occur in bedrooms or the garden, with temperature checks and sanitisation of spaces after use.

The provider completed thorough COVID-19 risk assessments covering infection control, high-touch areas, cleaning, staff arrangements, mental health and wellbeing, social distancing, staffing levels, and workplace ventilation. While the home was closed to visitors, people were encouraged to maintain contact with relatives and friends through video calls and phone calls.
