Ash Hall Nursing Home

This nursing home provides personal and nursing care to 49 people over 65 years old, some of whom live with dementia, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, or mental health conditions. The service can support up to 60 people in one adapted building.

Inspectors found that risks were not always managed effectively to protect people from harm. Not all windows had compliant restrictors fitted and radiators were not always covered or safely monitored in accordance with Health and Safety Executive requirements. However, the provider had implemented new systems and processes to promote safety since the last inspection. There were enough staff to support people when inspected, though staff were not always safely recruited. People's medicines were safely managed, and staff followed infection control procedures.

People, relatives and staff were positive about the management and felt able to approach the team with concerns. People told inspectors they were happy and involved in their own care, feeling included and empowered in their support.
