The Limes

The Limes provides personal care and accommodation for up to 55 younger and older people, some living with dementia, across two floors. At inspection, 40 people were residing at the service, with 35 present and five in hospital. Quality assurance systems were not always effective at identifying areas for improvement or ensuring safe care. Incidents were not consistently reported to the CQC as required, and government guidance and the provider's own policies had not always been followed. Lessons were not always learned when issues occurred.

Medicine management required strengthening, with some staff guidance missing and storage not always secure. Risk assessments for people's mobility and health conditions were in place. However, the provider had failed to establish robust systems to verify the suitability of agency staff. While no harm had come to people at the time of inspection, these shortcomings indicated significant gaps in safety oversight and quality monitoring.
