Amherst Court

Amherst Court provides personal care for up to 15 people with mental health needs, some living with Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and early onset dementia. At inspection, 14 people were using the service. People live safely and are protected from harm, with risks identified, documented and reviewed monthly or more frequently as needed. Staff know people well and are aware of their individual needs, having been safely recruited with appropriate training and experience.

Medicines are stored, administered and recorded correctly by trained staff who receive regular competency checks. The service is clean and staff have access to personal protective equipment. The registered manager ensures any trends or learning from accidents and incidents are shared with the team. Pre-assessment meetings take place with people and their loved ones before they move in, helping the service understand and meet individual needs effectively.
