Alexander House

Alexander House, in Richmond upon Thames, is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 15 older people, most of whom were living with dementia. The CQC rated the service requires improvement overall, down from good, after finding it remained in breach of regulations on governance, with new breaches relating to health and safety of the environment and to staff supervision and appraisals.

Inspectors found people were treated with kindness and compassion, staff managed risk well, and there were enough suitably trained staff. A newly appointed management team had brought some stability and was viewed positively by people, relatives and professionals, though inspectors said significant work remained to fully turn the service around.
