Alandale Residential Home

Alandale Residential Home provides personal care to up to 35 older people, some living with dementia, in a single adapted building. At inspection, 33 people were using the service. Residents and relatives gave positive feedback about the care and support they received from staff.

However, inspectors identified several areas requiring improvement. Medicines administration and management did not always follow guidance, and infection control risks such as incorrect bins being used had not been identified by management. Accident and incident documentation lacked robustness, and staff did not consistently document health checks for people with complex conditions. The home was not completing regular audits to identify safety concerns or areas for improvement, resulting in insufficient oversight of medicines management, accident and incident processes, weight monitoring, and care plan reviews.
