About Acorn Care Home

Acorn Care Home is a nursing home in Birmingham. Details of the Care Quality Commission's most recent findings are set out below.

Acorn Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 31 people. The CQC found that while staff were caring and experienced, and people received support tailored to their individual needs and preferences, the service overall required improvement.

Inspectors identified two breaches of regulation, relating to safe care and governance. Risk management and medicine handling were not always safe, and recruitment procedures were not consistently followed despite being well established. Staff felt valued and supported, though training gaps remained.

The provider has been asked for an action plan to address these concerns.
