202 Western Road is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 4 people with learning disabilities and/or autism. At inspection, there were 4 people using the service. Inspectors found significant concerns with safety and safeguarding. The home did not always assess risks or take action to mitigate identified risks, leaving people vulnerable to abuse or avoidable harm. Medicine management was not consistently safe, and staff did not always have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver effective care.

Inspectors also identified issues with how the service applied the Mental Capacity Act. People were not consistently supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, and staff did not always support them in the least restrictive way possible. The home's policies and systems supported restrictive practices rather than promoting independence and autonomy for residents.
