About Woodside

Woodside is a residential care home in Kirklees, providing support and rehabilitation for young people with complex mental health needs. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Woodside provides residential support and rehabilitation for up to five young people with complex mental health needs. The service maintains a safe environment with well-kept facilities and equipment, though fire doors were found wedged open during inspection. Staff have completed safeguarding training and understand safeguarding procedures.

While staff are up to date with mandatory training, specialist training provision is limited. Young people have documented capacity assessments and receive support to access healthcare services.

Staff have developed positive relationships with the young people in their care, demonstrating good rapport during observations. People spoke positively about the support they receive and are encouraged to maintain independence. Young people are actively supported to express their views about all aspects of their lives, with these views reflected in their individual care plans.
