Woodlands Care Home

Woodlands Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for people with a range of needs, including those living with conditions affecting mental capacity. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to consent, safe care and treatment, and governance. Risks such as water safety, fire safety and window restrictors were not consistently managed, medicines guidance was sometimes lacking, and mental capacity assessments were not always properly completed.

Inspectors found staff were kind, caring and respectful, and people spoke warmly of their support. Activities and family visits were encouraged, and recruitment practices were safe. However, oversight and quality assurance systems had failed to identify the issues found during the assessment.
