Wood Hill Lodge

Wood Hill Lodge provides accommodation, nursing and personal care for adults with physical disabilities and mental health issues, including older adults with dementia. The purpose-built home across four floors can accommodate up to 99 people, with 44 residents at the time of inspection.

Inspectors identified significant concerns with safety management. Risk assessments and care records were not always in place or kept up to date, leaving staff without essential information to support people safely. Medication systems were not managed safely, with people either not receiving prescribed medicines or receiving incorrect doses, putting residents at risk of harm. Infection prevention and control procedures were not consistently followed by staff, and some areas of the home were not clean or well maintained, which prevented effective cleaning. While some staff training had been delivered, observations suggested it had not been effective in improving practice.
