Windward House

Windward House is a residential care home providing support to older people, some living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Good overall, finding staff had the right skills and enough time to meet people's needs, medicines were managed well, and people were protected from harm through appropriate risk assessments. This followed previous breaches around safeguarding, staffing and governance, all of which inspectors found had been resolved.

People spoke warmly of staff kindness, food quality and improved activities, saying they felt safe and well cared for. Leaders were aware dementia care still needed further development to fully meet people's needs, but overall governance and oversight were found to be effective, with a positive, open culture among staff and management.
