Windsor Court Care Home

Windsor Court Care Home provides accommodation and personal care or nursing to a maximum of 48 older people. At inspection, the home was supporting 22 people. The home had implemented clear processes to welcome visitors safely, including rapid COVID-19 testing, health questions and temperature checks. Visitors were asked to wash their hands, use hand gels and wear Personal Protective Equipment. Designated areas within the home allowed staff to correctly put on, take off and dispose of PPE.

The registered manager and deputy manager carried out hand washing audits to ensure staff used correct techniques, supported by posters throughout the home promoting hand washing and social distancing reminders. Communal areas including lounges and dining rooms had been reconfigured to encourage social distancing, with chairs and tables rearranged to maintain safe distances between them. People enjoyed visits from loved ones in a dedicated visitor's room with an external entrance and hand washing facilities.
