Whittingham House

Whittingham House accommodates up to 70 people requiring nursing or personal care, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 59 residents were living at the service. The home failed to identify and manage health and safety risks effectively, with inadequate monitoring of hazards related to falls, moving and handling, distressed reactions, and eating and drinking. Care plans lacked sufficient information and follow-up across different areas of support, leaving people at risk of harm. Systems to protect residents from abuse were not effective, and the provider had not consistently reported safeguarding concerns to external agencies including the local authority and CQC as required.
