Whitestones Care Home

Whitestones Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 41 people, supporting those with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, dementia, and mental health needs. The single-floor home has communal lounge and dining areas alongside secure outdoor space. At inspection, 21 people were using the service.

Inspectors found adequate staffing levels with appropriate suitability checks in place, and people were protected from abuse with staff understanding their safeguarding responsibilities. However, medicines management required improvement, particularly for 'as and when required' medications where staff lacked clear guidance on administration and reasons for use were not consistently recorded. The home had not always explored people's end-of-life care preferences, and complaints were not routinely reviewed for lessons to be learned.
