West Oak

West Oaks provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 63 people with needs related to old age and dementia. The purpose-built, two-storey home features single occupancy rooms and one double bedroom across five units. At inspection, 48 people were residing at the service.

The home demonstrated effective infection control measures, with systems in place to isolate people with COVID-19 and good supplies of personal protective equipment stationed throughout. Visitors were required to wash their hands, have their temperature checked, and take a lateral flow test before entering. Staff had received training on pandemic safety measures and both staff and residents were regularly tested. The building was clean and well-maintained, with the environment designed to support social distancing where possible.
