Wessex House provides personal and nursing care for up to 56 older people in purpose-built accommodation across three floors. At the time of the inspection, 54 residents were living at the home. The service had made significant improvements since the previous inspection, including better oversight of pressure mattresses set to individual requirements, reducing the risk of pressure sores.

Protocols were established for residents prescribed blood thinning medicines following falls, and thickening agents were stored safely away from people's rooms. Records were clarified regarding which hoist slings staff could leave in-situ for people, reducing the overall risk of harm to residents.
