Welshwood Manor

Welshwood Manor provides personal care for up to 37 people, and 20 older people lived there at the time of the assessment. The CQC found the home had improved since its previous inadequate rating and was no longer in special measures, but it remained rated as requires improvement overall.

Inspectors found a new manager had brought positive change, with better staffing, teamwork and social activities, and staff were generally kind and responsive. However, choking risks, unsecure outdoor areas, fire safety concerns and weak governance were identified, and care did not always respect people's dignity or preferences, with some personal care still given early for staff convenience.
