Watermoor House

Watermoor House accommodates up to 39 older people and those living with dementia in an adapted building with communal areas, a courtyard, and outdoor spaces. At inspection, 25 people were resident. The home has identified areas requiring improvement in recruitment practices, quality monitoring systems, and staff understanding of people's risks. Care records were not always up to date, and audits had not effectively identified quality and safety concerns, though these shortfalls had not impacted people's care. A new manager has recently started and recognises the actions needed for improvement.

People reported feeling content at the home, and relatives were complimentary about the care provided. Staff spoke positively about the new manager's leadership. The home supports people to have maximum choice and control of their lives, with staff providing care in the least restrictive way possible and in line with people's best interests.
