OSJCT The Cedars

The Cedars is a purpose-built two-storey care home providing residential and dementia care for up to 49 older people. At inspection, 31 residents were living at the service. The home had implemented comprehensive infection prevention and control measures, including arranging furniture to enable social distancing and requiring all staff and visitors to have their temperature checked, wash their hands, wear facial coverings, and change clothing upon arrival. Staff were assigned to work on single floors where possible, and those moving between floors changed their personal protective equipment. Staff supporting people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 did not work in other areas of the home. Agency staff were required to work exclusively at this location. The home maintained adequate supplies of personal protective equipment to support safe practices, and risk assessments were in place to identify safe working procedures.
