About Victoria House

Victoria House is a nursing home in Wakefield, providing care for older people, including some living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Victoria House provides personal and nursing care to 30 older people, some living with dementia. At inspection, 27 people were using the service. The home offers choice of meals which people told inspectors they enjoyed.

However, several areas required improvement. The physical environment needed refurbishment, with inadequate signage to help people with dementia navigate the home. Some rooms lacked personalisation and some residents shared rooms.

Although the provider had improvement plans in place, staff training aligned with Care Certificate standards had not been embedded into practice as previously recommended.
