Springfield Grange

Springfield Grange, in Wakefield, is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 80 people, with 27 people using the service at the time of assessment. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to person centred care and safe care and treatment. Care records were not always accurate or person centred, risks including nutrition were not always properly assessed, and medicines were not consistently given on time.

Inspectors did find positives: people and relatives felt the service was safe, staff numbers and training were adequate, and the home was clean and worked well with outside professionals. Staff were described as kind, respectful and attentive, though feedback on people's involvement in their own care planning was mixed.
