Uvedale Hall Residential Home

Uvedale Hall is a converted Georgian building providing residential care without nursing for up to 29 older people. During the inspection, 25 people were living at the service. The home maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout, with windows and doors kept open to support ventilation. Staff followed good infection prevention and control practices, using personal protective equipment appropriately and conducting routine testing including lateral flow and PCR tests in line with government guidance. Vaccination records for people, staff, and regular visitors were monitored and stored by the registered manager, with visiting professionals' vaccination status checked on arrival.

The service supported people to receive visits from family, friends, and representatives in accordance with current guidance. Feedback from both residents and staff indicated there were sufficient staff to meet people's needs. The registered manager reported no workforce pressures and successful recruitment when needed. The home rarely used agency staff, instead utilizing a trained pool of bank staff to cover shifts, sickness, and holidays. When agency staff were occasionally used, the manager worked with a preferred agency whose staff had previous experience working in the home and familiarity with residents and the provider's operations.
