Upalong Residential Home is a residential care home in Surrey, providing care for older people, including some living with dementia. The CQC findings below set out what inspectors observed during their most recent visit.

Upalong Residential Home accommodates up to nine older people, some living with dementia, in a converted residence with single and shared en-suite rooms. At inspection, eight people were resident at the service. Staff actively supported residents to maintain contact with family and friends through phone calls and in-person visits, including window visits to minimise infection risk.

The home maintained good supplies of personal protective equipment and had isolation plans in place for COVID-19 cases. A meet and greet protocol screened visitors, took temperatures, and provided PPE as needed.

The building was clean and well-maintained. Staff received training on pandemic safety, and both staff and residents were regularly tested for COVID-19. Residents' wellbeing was supported through activities tailored to individual preferences, including themed crafts offered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups each day.
