Trepassey Residential Home

This residential home accommodates up to 34 people requiring personal care, with 25 residents at the time of inspection. The service implemented comprehensive infection prevention measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, including shared guidance with residents, families and staff about procedures and safety protocols. All staff received training on infection control and correct use of personal protective equipment, with adherence monitored during inspections. A dedicated housekeeping team maintained regular cleaning schedules throughout the home. Staff supported infection control efforts by avoiding public transport and changing into uniforms on arrival. Communal areas were adapted to enable social distancing, and visiting pods with plastic screens and intercom systems allowed safe, socially distanced contact between residents and visitors. Risk assessments were documented in individual care records to help maintain people's safety.
